About this disclosure
This notice summarises the main risks of trading contracts for difference (CFDs) with Singhania Capital. It does not describe every risk. Read it together with the client terms and conditions before you open an account, and do not trade unless you understand how these products work.
Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains
CFDs are traded on margin: you deposit a fraction of the full value of a position. A small price movement against you therefore has a large effect on your account, and you can lose all of the money you have deposited, quickly.
The higher the leverage you use, the less the market has to move before your losses exceed the margin you have put up.
You do not own the underlying asset
A CFD is a contract that settles in cash on the difference between the opening and closing price. You have no ownership of, or rights in, the underlying currency, commodity, index, share or cryptocurrency, including voting rights or physical delivery.
Prices can move quickly and gap
Markets can move sharply, especially around economic data, news, market opens and weekends. Prices can jump from one level to another without trading in between.
- Orders may be filled at a worse price than requested (slippage).
- A stop-loss order limits risk in normal conditions, but your position may be closed at a worse price than your stop level.
- Spreads can widen significantly when liquidity is low.
Margin calls and automatic close-out
You must keep enough money in your account to support your open positions. If your equity falls below the required level, you may receive a margin call and some or all of your positions may be closed automatically at the prevailing market price, without further notice, at the levels set out in the client terms and conditions.
Costs reduce your results
Every trade carries costs: the spread, a commission on some account types, and an overnight swap on positions held past the daily rollover. Swaps can be charged or credited and change over time. These costs apply whether a trade makes or loses money, and they add up with frequent trading or long holding periods.
Over-the-counter products and counterparty risk
CFDs are not traded on a regulated exchange. They are agreements between you and us, so you depend on our ability to meet our obligations, and you can only close a position with us, at the prices we quote, during our trading hours.
Cryptocurrency CFDs
Cryptocurrency prices are highly volatile and can be affected by events outside normal market hours, technology failures and regulatory action. Cryptocurrency CFDs may not be available to residents of some countries.
Technology and execution
Trading depends on internet connections, devices and trading platforms. Outages, delays or errors — on your side or ours — can prevent you from opening, managing or closing positions when you want to.
Suitability, advice and information on this website
CFDs are not suitable for everyone. We do not provide personal investment advice, and nothing on this website is a recommendation to buy or sell.
Prices, charts, calculators and examples on this website are illustrative, and results on a demo account do not reflect live trading. Past performance is not a guide to future results.
Your responsibility
Before and while you trade:
- Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
- Use risk management tools such as stop-loss orders.
- Seek independent financial advice if you are unsure whether CFD trading is suitable for you.
Acknowledgement
By opening an account with Singhania Capital, you confirm that you have read and understood this Risk Disclosure and that you are voluntarily assuming the risks associated with CFD trading.
